Chief Executive Officer
Carole has served as Chief Executive Officer since August 2023. She brings more than 30 years of experience to Imperial Beach Community Clinic. Carole has led organizations in healthcare as a CEO and Executive Director. At one point, she headed a network of 21 primary and specialty clinics on a County-wide level. Her experience spans hospitals, LTACHs, and surgery centers, including all healthcare sectors like governmental, private, non-profit, for-profit, and joint venture organizations. With her vast healthcare experiences, Carole gained a sharpened skill-set in strategic planning, clinical and facility redesign of systems, and process improvement. Furthermore, Carole has guided many projects through various construction, emergency, and redesign stages.
In relation to Tribal healthcare, she facilitated the creation of home care services and initiated behavioral health and substance abuse treatment programs, both inpatient and outpatient. She accomplished this while growing the bottom line by millions for primary care Tribal clinics.
Carole Veloso also has international experience and has worked in Africa, Central America, and Mexico. This exposure gave her a broad outlook on how issues can be effectively solved. She believes there are many ways to address problematic situations, and she carefully works to find suitable resolutions for the organization. Carole is a proven reliable Project Specialist in the healthcare field, and she is mindful and acquainted with how best practices might translate into quality care for all.
Courtney Summers-Day, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Courtney Summers-Day has served as Chief Medical Officer since September 2022. She has been board certified in Family Medicine since 2011 after graduating from Scripps Chula Vista Family Medicine Residency and has been with IBCC ever since. She supervises UCSD medical students in their outpatient primary care rotations, and resident physicians from Scripps in our gynecology procedure clinic. She is the director of our Opioid Treatment Program, which started serving the IBCC community in 2018. She also serves on the Clinical Quality Committee of Integrated Health Partners.
Chief Financial Officer
Clinton Wiese joined the Imperial Beach Community clinic in 2019. He received his BSBA in Accounting from the University of Arizona in 1996. Mr. Wiese’s 24 years of experience within both the public and private sector, as well as working for both For Profit and Not for Profit entities, created the type of qualifications necessary to execute the CFO role within the Imperial Beach Community Clinic. Prior to his professional career Mr. Wiese was a hospital corpsman with the US Navy Reserve and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse while attending college.
Clarissa Damasco, DMD
Clarissa Damasco joined the Imperial Beach Community clinic in 2020. Clarissa has a background as a general dentist with extensive knowledge of dental procedures. She is able to work well with front office staff and back office dental assistants, cultivating an atmosphere of professionalism and teamwork. With compassion and competence, possesses the ability to put patients at ease while working efficiently to meet productivity expectations and clinical responsibilities.
Human Resources Director
Eric Wray serves as the Director of Human Resources for Imperial Beach Community Clinic, providing day-to-day strategic and operational leadership on all people-related matters. Prior to joining IBCC, he served as Director of Human Resources for Old Republic, and held human resources leadership roles for Nan McKay and Securitas.
Eric is a dynamic, creative, and inspirational leader with a keen eye for business, technology, culture, and talent. A collaborative problem-solver and skilled communicator, he is passionate about inspiring collaboration and leading teams to achieve higher levels of success. He believes diversity of thought improves the lives of everyone, and uses his expertise in executive coaching, leadership development, talent, and change management to add value to the organizations he serves.
His Bachelor in Communications and more than twenty years of practical experience give him the resources needed to understand operations as a trusted business partner and driver of strategic growth.
